Ottawa restaurant Pure Kitchen creates brown-bag lunch donation packages for health care workers
Ottawa vegetarian restaurant chain Pure Kitchen has a lot of fans across the city, and they’ve been stepping up in response to the company’s call for donations to help feed health care workers at local emergency departments.
On March 24 the restaurant announced on its social media pages that it was initiating the Pay it Forward program, delivering brown-bag meals to emergency-room workers at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Ottawa Hospital, Queensway Carleton Hospital, and Brewer COVID Assessment Clinic. There are three donation options ($5 buys half a meal, $15 a full meal, and $25 two meals) that can be added onto a takeout or delivery food order from the restaurant or done as a standalone transaction.
Pure Kitchen did its first round of meal deliveries over the April 4 weekend, with more to come.
