All 87 long-term care homes in Toronto vaccinated ahead of schedule

#TeamVaccine is made up of family doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other primary care providers who collaborated to tackle the goal of vaccinating all eligible long-term care residents by January 21. Their goal was achieved by January 15, thanks to incredible leadership and cooperation among health networks and staff.

“We’re sharing logistics and resources to get residents vaccinated as quickly as possible. There are no silos here, everyone has put down their hospital tags and come together as Team Vaccine. The ability to become one team so quickly has been very moving and we want this to be the model for the future, pulling in the same direction to protect those that need it most,” said Dr. Camille Lemieux, DFCM Associate Professor and University Health Network Chief of Family Medicine.

The next goal for #TeamVaccine is residential homes, and partnering with regional hospitals to share best practices and help vaccinate more Ontarians.
